The Road Trip Up North Part 25: Dinner at Maxine By The Sea Restaurant–December 24, 2017

When we reached our accommodation, we took a shower and took a nap, and went to the park again in the evening to listen to the waves of the sea. Lee sat on one of those benches and I just went around, looking for something else that would interest me. I heard Lee’s voice.

“Beth, how much money do we have?”

“Why?”

“It’s Christmas, let’s spend some good money on our dinner.”

And so we walked back to our car that was parked in front of our accommodation. At few minutes after, we were already enjoying a sumptuous dinner at Maxine by the Sea while being serenaded by the carollers.

It was Christmas Eve and the festive mood was in the air. We chose a place that was overlooking the sea. It was night and it was dark out there in the sea but far into the distance we could see the lights of fishing boats, and the light coming from the head part of the gigantic Jesus Christ statue on Pilgrimage Island, the island that we had visited earlier during the day. The statue was out there, in the middle of the sea, but we could see the light emanating from it. It was like a jewel, a beacon, in the darkness.

Lee and I could hear the waves, and the carollers were singing.

After our dinner, we went back to the park, and  we just sat down at the concrete benches nearby. It was late December and the breeze was chilly.

A few more minutes passed and we went back to our accommodation. We exchanged good nights.
